Admission Requirements

Students applying to the Academy must have literacy standards equivalent to a minimum of year ten. Mature-age applications are welcomed. The Academy reserves the right to accept or reject any application for its courses or qualifications on offer.

Enrolment

  • Please read the entire copy of the Academy information guide and student handbook.
  • Click on the Enrol button to enrol online or phone the office for an information pack including enrolment form to be sent to you.
  • Consult the timetable for the subjects of your choice.
  • Phone for an interview with a student counsellor who can help plan your studies. Interviews may be in person or by phone.
  • Full-time students need to enclose two passport photographs.

Payment

Check the subject fees under the Subjects and Fees tab. Once booked, you must confirm attendance and pay the balance in full at least 14 days prior to class commencing. There is a $50 non-refundable deposit to list in individual subjects (this is part of the total fee and is not an extra charge).

We provide substantial educational and training resources to each student and require a minimum of two weeks to finalise resources and student materials. Late payment may result in materials delays (ie. not getting books on time). If a class is full or if there are not enough students, you will be notified and may commence training at the next scheduled class time. If you list for a class and do not attend there are fees associated depending on when you cancel, please see below or check our NHA Policies and Student Info under Info > PDF Documents.

External study subjects must be paid for in full prior to receiving study material.

Refund Policy

Withdraw from a subject with 14 days or more notice prior to commencement, a full refund or credit transfer to another subject will be given less a cancellation fee of $50 (non-refundable deposit). Withdraw with less than 14 days notice prior to commencement an administration fee of $100 is charged and the balance refunded or it may be transferred to another subject. Withdraw with less than 48 hours notice prior to commencement, half course fees will be refunded or transferred.

Withdraw once a subject has commenced (or you have the subject material) no refunds will apply. You may apply for a credit transfer to the same subject at a future date, incurring a $50 transfer fee. In the event that a student does not commence a subject on the commencement date, subject fees will be non-refundable but will be transferrable with a $50 transfer fee.

Withdraw from an external study course after having received materials, no refunds will apply. If the Academy cancels a subject, the amount paid is fully refundable including deposit. Refund claims must be applied for in writing and will be processed by the Academy in no more than 4 weeks from receiving the application.

Complaints/disputes about refunds will be handled in accordance with The Natural Health Academy Grievance, Appeal & Complaints policies as detailed in NHA Policies and Student Info.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

You may apply for an exemption from any subject for which you have an equal or greater level of training (ie, a registered nurse may be granted RPL for Anatomy & Physiology). RPL application forms are available from the Academy reception. Completed forms must be returned with copies of an academic transcript, certificates, diplomas or other evidence and details of the content and duration of the course you completed. An application form must be submitted. Please contact the office for details, or download the RPL form here. All RPL must be processed before your course commences. Once enrolled at the Academy, RPL for courses elsewhere will not be accepted.

Academy Classes

All hands-on practical classes require giving and receiving by fellow students both male and female. All classes require active participation. Exemptions may be given to those who have a medical condition that may preclude them from receiving a tactile therapy. Applications must be in writing to the Principal. Students attending the Academy are covered by the Academy’s insurance policy.

Student Responsibility

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure all Academy policies are clearly understood. The full version of the Academy’s policy documents (Policies and Student Info) is available from the Academy administration or on this website as a PDF document.
