The Academy provides a variety of courses to suit your interests and to cater for your potential client requirements. There is no such thing as one-size-fits-all and so you may specialise in a certain area of interest or formulate your own course in the Diploma specialisation - Clinical Therapy. Cert IV is a set course and cannot be customised or changed (except where you may do Anatomy & Physiology in the classroom or at home) whereas the Diploma specialisations can be accommodated to your requirements. All subjects for Certificate IV need to completed before Diploma graduation. In most cases some Diploma subjects (ie. Sport Massage) can be undertaken whenever it is offered in the timetable (provided the pre-requisites are met). So, Cert IV does not have to be completed before undertaking some Diploma subjects. They can be trained concurrently. We would like to point out that for developing a viable business all students undertake a Remedial Massage Diploma as this is the requirement for gaining provider numbers so that your clients may claim. Most health funds require a government-accredited Diploma to qualify for their provider numbers. In Adelaide it is estimated that somewhere between 60-70% of clients want to claim their massage service on their health fund. So if you do not have provider numbers then it will be very difficult to sustain a viable business. We have a flexible system of training whereby courses can be taken either during the day, evening or on weekends. Course content and class contact time is the same in most cases. This means that if you are a full-time student and have something on in one week that a subject is offered, it is generally offered again as a weekend course later in the year.
