The Essentials

Pre-requisites: None. Massage I preferred

This subject will introduce the science of Aromatherapy and provide a foundation for using essential oils in a clinic.

The connections between other healing modalities useful to an Aromatherapist such as massage, acupressure & reflexology to treat mind, body and spirit will be discussed. Upon completion you will be able to immediately use essential oils for your clinic. This subject covers:

  • History of essential oils use
  • Carrier oils, blends and formula
  • Aims of Aromatherapy
  • Dosages and dilutions
  • Safety aspects of using oils
  • Indications and contra-indications
  • Requirements for clinical practice
  • 20 oils, applications and properties
  • Blend the personal prescription
